SPRING OOTD: BERET DAY & MY LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIPS | STEPHANIE SO

I have several love/ hate relationships, some strong some not so strong:
Skinny jeans (hah, I guess you could tell this is the strong one); love it because it literally goes well with everything, hate it because its so. god. damn. freaking. skin-tight. Can't we just wear our sweats 24/7??
Winter; love it because you could literally stuff your face and nobody would know because everything is hidden under all those layers. Hate it because, well, it's freaking cold.
Hats; love them because they could easily spice/ dress up an outfit and also adds a really nice touch. However living in a small city like Hong Kong it is (quite) unusual to wear a hat on an everyday basis; I feel like being judged whenever I'm dressed up a bit more, so I guess I really take an advantage of an occasion where I can/ feel like wearing a hat. A good thing about a beret is that it is classic, elegant, very easy to carry, but also enough to make a statement and gives off a bit of Parisian chic vibe.

I hope you all enjoy these photos and stay tuned for an OOTD vlog/ video on youtube.com/stephsyt this coming few days!

SPRING THINGS | STEPHANIE SO

It's spring for sure and I can barely contain my excitement. With dandelions and daisies everywhere, it's hard to resist making a flower crown-- one of the many things to do in Spring. Despite the exam season it's good to go outside and catch some Vitamin D (and perhaps some tan as well- hmm, might be a lil' bit too much to ask for).

HIDDEN GEM | STEPHANIE SO

I love Sham Shui Po. As a fashion textiles student, I have to always source fabrics/ materials myself. My school does provide me a lot of resources- more than I'll ever need. However, sometimes I do prefer seeing fabrics/ materials in real life/ person and buying them myself.

Lucky for me, whenever I break up for holidays I always go back to Hong Kong. Now what I'm about to say is quite contradictory/ confusing.
To me, Sham Shui Po is like a hidden gem in Hong Kong. Some people may find it usual and completely normal as it is quite a popular place to buy electronics/ fabrics/ vintage, old stuff- a lot of mish mash in general.

However, before I studied Fashion Textiles Sham Shui Po is a place that I really never knew much about, let alone going there.
Now, I can tell there that I've been there for a good few times and honestly it's like the best place on earth (especially in times of emergency when I don't have time to source my materials online/ other places). So, if you're a fashion student and/ or planning to visit Hong Kong, you must go to Sham Shui Po. (p.s. also a great place to practice street photography! I've done that a few times already!)

Also, I'm currently back in HK! Sadly, this time I'm here for an interview and not a holiday (yet). Nonetheless I'm hoping to make the most of my 'trip'!

STUDIO SHOOT | STEPHANIE SO

It has been a long time since I've really arrange a proper photoshoot for my blog. These days I rarely find the time to squeeze in photoshoots during weekends (I'm a full-time student so I have school on weekdays). And while I might be free during the weekends, my photographer is not.

It's not that I've lost the passion or anything, but I no longer can afford the time to do this. I still remember getting excited every time I have planned photoshoots with my friends- it's fun and definitely exciting. I love the idea of having a concept and the whole planning process. However, I now just prefer carrying my DSLR around me and just shoot whenever I want to; it's kind of a like an impromptu/ candid photoshoot- you get the idea. Luckily I have changed lenses a while ago which makes everything so much easier (e.g. no lugging around a heavy, bulky camera).

These photos are from 3 months ago. My dark eye circles have never really gone away but I was working on a project that time hence the super big. dark. eye. circles. Also, do ignore my puffy face- a consequence of over-stressing and not having enough sleep.
